Sorry for the lack of posts lately but as I mentioned earlier I really don’t put much thought into anything so it’s hard for me to think of things to write about. So, let’s try work…I work for a company called Courtyard Developments. What we do is develop and build seniors communities called Hyde Parks. Our current location is kind of our pilot, we have completed phase 1 which is 92 town homes and are now moving on to Phase 2 which is kind of the main focus of the site. Phase 2 is made up of a 35 unit apartment building and a 105 unit retirement residence called Immanuel House. The development process is long and tedious, you harass consultants to get the drawings done, then you apply to the city then you harass them to review the plans, then they ask you to change something, then you harass consultants to change it, then you harass the city to review it, then they ask you to change something else because the person reviewing the file originally is now retired and the new person wants things done differently. This can go back and forth for a while taking anywhere from 6 -30 months. We are now finally done with the site plan and moving on to the building itself. This is a big step and it was done in record time, for us, a whopping 12 months. I realize this may be the most boring post ever but its’ my life and now the next thing you read will be riveting thanks to me.
